Monthly Litter Picks

As we come out of lockdown we will reinstate our regular litter picks on the first Sunday of the month at 1pm in various locations around Chester as a start but would like to extend this to Cheshire West.

We are looking for hosts in each location, then our group will arrange delivery of litter pickers, bags, and gloves.

We will also arrange for collection of the litter. Our aim is to log the number of bags of litter and we have can log this each month to provide data month by month and location by location to see how much of a difference we have made to the area.

By hosting these in multiple locations we hope to get more community involvement and awareness, with the hope of reducing litter and an aim that the community will raise awareness of the issues of litter.

We are still looking for volunteer litter pickers and hosts for the nearby locations below:

  • Water Tower Gardens near Chester Racecourse
  • Limewood Fields – Newton
  • Grosvenor Park – hosted by Just Footprints
  • Alexandra Park – Hoole
  • Handbridge – meet at Industry – hosted by Incredible Edible Handbridge
  • Countess of Chester Park – Meet Ranger Cabin – hosted by Friends of Countess of Chester Park
  • St Ann’s Park – Newtown – with the 10xgreenerCH1 team
