As part of the build-up to Chester Green Weekend, we’re hosting a series of engaging events that invite everyone — whether you’re already active or just beginning to explore your role in climate action.

We’ve already blogged about our Fashion Fundraiser on 7th May — a fun, conscious way to kick things off. Now we’re excited to invite you to our next event:

📍 Monday, 19th May
📍 That Beer Place (home of our monthly People, Planet, Pint meetups)

At this gathering, we’ll be screening the short and powerful film ACTionism — a documentary that takes a hopeful, human look at how people move from feeling overwhelmed to becoming part of meaningful climate solutions.

Why this film matters:

ACTionism is about how collective action — not just individual effort — can lead to real change. It follows Ellie Meredith’s inspiring personal journey from climate anxiety to empowerment and features insights from John Alexander, author of Citizens. His message is clear: we thrive when we see ourselves not as consumers, but as citizens — with agency, responsibility, and hope.

What to expect on the night:

This evening isn’t just for “activists.”

It’s for anyone who’s ever thought

“I want to help, but I’m not sure where to start.”

It’s for the climate-concerned, the curious, the anxious, the hopeful, and the everyday changemakers.
