Chester Green Festival
Chester Green Festival is a celebration of the people and organisations working for climate action and nature recovery across the Chester/ Cheshire region.
Bringing together community groups, charities, campaigners and sustainable businesses, the festival highlights practical solutions, inspiring projects and simple actions that help create a greener future for our city.
Chester Green Festival is part of Great Big Green Week, the UK’s biggest celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature, coordinated by The Climate Coalition.
With stalls, talks, workshops and activities, it’s an opportunity to connect, learn and take part in building a more sustainable community.

Why Chester Green Festival is so important
The climate and nature emergency affects every part of our lives, from the food we eat and the energy we use to the health of our local environment and communities. While the challenges are global, many of the solutions start locally.
Chester Green Festival creates a space where people can discover what is already happening across our region and how they can get involved. It brings together community organisations, campaign groups and sustainable businesses to share ideas, inspire action and build stronger connections.
By making local climate and nature solutions visible and accessible, the festival helps more people feel part of the change that is needed to create a healthier, greener and more resilient future.

How You Can Get Involved
Chester Green Festival is open to everyone. Whether you are a resident, community group, charity or business, there are many ways to take part and help inspire action on climate and nature across our city and Cheshire West.

Individuals – come along and take part
Everyone is welcome to attend Chester Green Festival. Come along to explore stalls, take part in workshops, hear inspiring talks and discover the many ways people in Chester are responding to the climate and nature emergency.
The festival is designed to be welcoming, practical and enjoyable — helping people learn new ideas while having fun and meeting others who care about creating a greener future.

Businesses – stalls and sponsorship
Local businesses are invited to be part of the festival. Smaller sustainable businesses and artisans can apply for a stall to showcase and sell products, particularly where there is a clear sustainability message or connection to climate or nature.
Larger businesses may wish to support the festival through sponsorship, helping to make the event possible while demonstrating their commitment to sustainability in the local community.

Community groups and charities – share your work
Community organisations, charities and campaign groups are encouraged to take part and share the work they are doing locally. The festival is an opportunity to reach new audiences, connect with other groups and inspire residents to get involved.
Groups can host stalls, run activities or deliver workshops that help people understand the climate and nature emergency and the practical actions they can take.
