Let’s Keep Cheshire Green, Together

Our organised community clean ups and litter pick hubs are initiatives designed to bring people together and help tackle the ongoing litter pandemic — while promoting wider sustainability throughout the region.

Why Participate in Community Clean Ups?

At Eco Communities, we passionately believe in the power of community to create a cleaner, greener environment for all. Community clean ups allow volunteers to come together to clean local spaces — these events have a variety of benefits, including:

  • Protect: Removing rubbish helps protect wildlife
  • Beautify: A cleaner environment is a more enjoyable for friends and families
  • Community: Meet like-minded people and strengthen bonds
  • Education: Learn more about the impacts of litter and the importance of recycling.

What Is a Litter Pick Hub?

Whether you’re a solo litter picker or group organiser, a litter pick hub is a local centre for individuals and groups to borrow equipment to clean their community at their own convenience. Steps to get involved in the project include the following:

  • Find Your Nearest Hub: Locate your nearest litter pick hub on our interactive map
  • Borrow Equipment: Take the tools you need for your cleanup
  • Pick: Collect as much litter in your chosen area as you like. Every little helps
  • Return Equipment: Make sure to bring back any equipment you’ve used so others can do their part too
  • Report Back: Share your litter pick results on social media to fly the flag for cleaner communities!
