Some exciting news from Eco Communities, we’re launching a new project, and we wanted our community to be among the first to hear about it.

Introducing Refill Schools

We’re bringing refill and reuse into primary schools across Cheshire. Two schools will trial running their own pupil-led refill shop, with full equipment, resources and training provided. Alongside this, we’re delivering circular economy workshops and assemblies in up to 25 schools, helping the next generation get hands-on with reduce, reuse, repair, refill and repurpose — not just as a lesson, but as a habit.

Kids don’t just learn what sustainability means — they run it. They stock it, they sell it, they see the impact first-hand. That’s the idea behind Refill Schools: give young people ownership of the change, rather than just teaching them about it.

Why Now?

We’re heading to Spacehive soon to raise the funds to make Refill Schools happen. Crowdfunding campaigns do best when they launch with momentum already behind them, so before we go live, we’re asking for a bit of early support in two simple ways.

1. Shop Full Circle

Every purchase through our Full Circle shop already funds our work across Cheshire — refillable bathroom and kitchen essentials, plastic-free swaps, recycled bags and more. It also helps us build the case that this project deserves backing, going into Spacehive with real momentum behind us.

We are starting to calculate the amount we raised from purchases for our eco products through our shop… every purchase adds some funds to get the crowdfunder started Support our projects once launched.

2. Follow Along

We’ll share the Spacehive campaign link the moment it’s live, and every share helps us reach further across Cheshire.

Know a School That Might Want to Get Involved?

We’d love an introduction. If you know a Cheshire West school that might be a good fit for the trial, or a headteacher who’d be interested in a workshop, get in touch — we’d love to hear from you.

Thank you, as always, for being part of this.
