SUMMARY:Chester Repair Cafe
DESCRIPTION:Chester Repair Café a project from Chester Friends of the Earth brings together skilled volunteers in a friendly\, accessible community environment (with cake!) to repair broken or damaged household items. \nPeople will have the opportunity to bring their items for repair and\, if they want\, to learn how to repair and maintain items themselves. \nThis helps our communities to breathe new life into household items which would otherwise end up in landfill\, incinerated or exported from our country. \nGood cake and a friendly atmosphere are essential\, and all our wonderful volunteers bring plenty of both! \n  \nWhen is the next Chester Repair Café? \n\n\n\n\nDate:\n Saturday 26 April 2025\n\n\nTime:\n10.30am to 12.30pm (volunteers to arrive at 10am)\n\n\nLocation:\nSt Martin’s Academy\, 91 Hoole Road\, Chester\, CH2 3NG\n\n\n\n\nFor more information about the venue\, including any accessibility enquiries\, please contact us at chesterrepaircafe@gmail.com. \nBring along your broken items and our handy volunteers will do their best to give them a new lease of life and save them from landfill! Repairers can be different for each Repair Café\, but are generally able to work on: \n\nSmall electricals (no microwaves)\nClothes\, textiles and teddies\nBicycles\n\nIt’s recommended that you only bring one item at a time to the Repair Café\, because you will need to be with the repairer while the repair is being carried out. If a specific part is needed\, you may be required to purchase the part and bring it back to the Café (either during the session\, or the next one). \nFuture Repair Café dates \n\nSaturday 17 May 2025\nSaturday 21 June 2025\nFurther dates TBC – usually the 3rd Saturday of the month
