DESCRIPTION:Chester Repair Café a project from Chester Friends of the Earth brings together skilled volunteers in a friendly\, accessible community environment (with cake!) to repair broken or damaged household items. \nPeople will have the opportunity to bring their items for repair and\, if they want\, to learn how to repair and maintain items themselves. \nThis helps our communities to breathe new life into household items which would otherwise end up in landfill\, incinerated or exported from our country. \nGood cake and a friendly atmosphere are essential\, and all our wonderful volunteers bring plenty of both! \nFuture Repair Café dates \n\nHoole Community Centre the 3rd Saturday of the month – 10.30am – 12.30pm\n\nFor more information about the venue\, including any accessibility enquiries\, please contact us at chesterrepaircafe@gmail.com. \nBring along your broken items and our handy volunteers will do their best to give them a new lease of life and save them from landfill! Repairers can be different for each Repair Café\, but are generally able to work on: \n\nSmall electricals (no microwaves)\nClothes\, textiles and teddies\nBicycles\n\nIt’s recommended that you only bring one item at a time to the Repair Café\, because you will need to be with the repairer while the repair is being carried out. If a specific part is needed\, you may be required to purchase the part and bring it back to the Café (either during the session\, or the next one).

While it may not be Plogging or SpoGomi\, we think it’s a first—and we can’t wait to see where it goes after Chester Green Weekend. \nNot sure what SpoGomi is? Well\, neither did we until recently!  Of course\, we’ve tried Plogging (litter-picking while jogging)\, and we’re not stopping there! During the Chester Green Weekend\, we’ll be hosting our Miniature Picking Competition. It’s a fun\, low-key event where you can join us on Dean’s Field for a little friendly competition. Created by one of our Directors Rhian.. we hae had some great laughs with the game already. \nCome find us between 12pm and 3pm Saturday and Sunday\, and let’s clean up while having a blast!
